On October 7, 1996 the EfbV ( Ordinance for Waste and Reycling Specialist Companies) came into effect. Eventually, it is based on the KrW-/AbfG ( Law of Life-Cycle Resource and Waste Management) from September 27, 1994. The latter law shall encourage closed loop recycling management in order to preserve natural resources and the environmental friendly disposal of waste. With the help of the EfbV, companies whose field of activity is disposal of waste or recycling can be controlled by authorities or neutral bodies. Thereby, a high degree of trust in the activities of waste and recycling specialist companies shall be built. This mutual trust is substantiated as the waste and recycling specialist companies have to get a certification. These kind of certifications can also be obtained from Allianz Cert. The verifications conducted follow the specifications of the EfbV, whereas special requirements for - the company organisation
- human resources
- activity documentation in a company diary
- insurance coverage
- the owner and managerial staff
- further training for employees
is put down in the law. Compliance with these requirements is checked during the certification and verified by a supervision contract and the certification document. |
